Meritorious Awards
Honor Medal

The Honor Medal is the highest award presented to Scouts or
Scouters for showing courage in attempting to save a life at their own
personal risk. The award may be presented posthumously to Scouts or Scouters
who have died while attempting to save the life of another. The medal may
be presented with crossed palms to one who has shown exceptional heroism in
attempting to save a life.
Medal of Merit

The Medal of Merit is awarded
to Scouts or Scouters for performing an act of meritorious service that is
above what would be expected. The act need not involve lifesaving.
It should involve some aspect of Scouting skills or learning.
Heroism Award

The Heroism Award is the third
level of recognition. It is
presented to Scouts or Scouters who have saved a life at little or no
personal risk.
